London

London companies trust Pickr for recruiting intelligence

Pickr gives recruitment agencies and in-house hiring teams in London a scored shortlist in minutes, structured interviews for every role, and match reasoning you can put in front of a client or a hiring manager.

London is several labor markets stacked on top of each other. The City and Canary Wharf hire for banking, asset management, insurance and fintech. The Big Four, the large law firms and the strategy consultancies sit a short walk away and compete for the same analysts and associates. Tech runs from Shoreditch to King's Cross, where venture-backed scaleups, the European offices of US software companies and a growing life-sciences cluster all want the same engineers, product managers and data scientists. Add the media and creative agencies of Soho, the retail and hospitality head offices, the NHS trusts and central government, and you have a city where almost every employer is hiring against someone larger.

That is what makes hiring in London hard. The talent pool is deep and international, but so is the competition for it, and a good candidate rarely has only one process running. The market is also unusually agency-dense: most employers work from a preferred supplier list, briefs go out to several agencies at once, and the first agency to send a shortlist the hiring manager can actually act on usually wins the fee. Sponsorship has made hiring from outside the UK slower and more expensive, so the domestic pool matters more than it used to, and hybrid working means London employers now compete with remote roles across the UK and Europe as well as with the firm next door.

Market snapshot

Hiring in London at a glance

Key sectors
Financial services and fintech, professional services (law, audit, consulting), technology and scaleups, media and creative, life sciences, healthcare, retail and hospitality head offices, public sector.
Typical employers
Global banks and asset managers, Big Four and law firms, venture-backed scaleups, European headquarters of US technology companies, media groups, NHS trusts, consumer brands, central government departments and their suppliers.
Talent pool
Deep and international: graduates from London's universities and from across the UK, experienced hires from every major European market, and commuters from the Home Counties and the wider South East.
Languages of business
English. Multilingual teams are normal, and EMEA hub roles regularly ask for German, French, Spanish, Italian or a Nordic language alongside it.
Hiring dynamics
Agency-dense and fast. Preferred supplier lists, multi-agency contingency briefs and retained search for senior roles coexist. Candidates in demand run several processes at once and expect quick, clear feedback.
Remote and relocation
Hybrid is the default in finance, tech and professional services. Fully remote roles compete for the same people from across the UK and Europe, and hiring from outside the UK usually means visa sponsorship, which adds time and cost.

How Pickr helps

What London teams get with Pickr

A scored shortlist before the other agencies have finished sourcing

Describe the role. Pickr finds and scores candidates from your own talent pool and beyond in minutes, with reasoning attached to every match. Related skills count, so a strong profile from a neighboring specialty is not filtered out for lacking the exact keyword. On a multi-agency brief in London, that is the difference between sending the shortlist the client acts on and sending the one that arrives second.

Match reasoning you can put in front of a client or a hiring manager

Every score comes with an explanation in plain sentences: what fits, what is missing, what to probe in the interview. Agencies send it to the client with the submission; in-house teams use it to get a hiring manager to a decision without a meeting. Every completed placement makes the next shortlist for that role sharper, so your accuracy on the profiles you place most improves over time.

Structured interviews and a client portal that ends the CV email chain

Each role gets tailored interview questions, live transcription and scorecards that write themselves. Your clients review candidates, vote and leave feedback in their own portal, free and with no user limit. Interviewer and hiring-manager seats are free as well, so the whole panel is in the room without a licensing discussion.

Less admin, more conversations

Follow-ups, scheduling, rejections and status updates are drafted for you; you review and send. Email, calendar, Slack, WhatsApp and LinkedIn conversations land in one inbox against the right candidate. If you prefer, connect Claude or ChatGPT via MCP and run the pipeline from a chat window. Your afternoon goes back to candidates and clients instead of copying between tools.

EU-hosted in Germany

Candidate data and the application itself run in Frankfurt, Germany, inside the EU. Pickr is GDPR compliant, a data processing agreement (DPA) is included, and names and email addresses are redacted from AI prompts by default. For a London agency or hiring team that means one less question in a client's vendor review, and when you place EU candidates or work for EU clients, their data stays in the EU. The product works anywhere in the world with an English interface. Built in Austria by a founder who ran a recruitment agency himself.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Pickr available in London?

Yes. Pickr is a cloud application and is available to companies and recruitment agencies in London and across the UK with nothing to install. You, your clients and your interviewers work in the browser. The interface, demo, onboarding and support are in English. Pricing is on request; the quickest way to get it is to book a demo.

Where is candidate data stored?

Candidate data and the application run in Frankfurt, Germany, inside the EU. Pickr is GDPR compliant, a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is included, and personal data such as names and email addresses is redacted from AI prompts by default. If you want AI processing to stay entirely within the EU, that is a single setting.

Does Pickr work for recruitment agencies in London?

Yes. Pickr was built by a founder who ran a recruitment agency himself. Clients, mandates, submissions and placements are part of the product, not tags bolted onto an in-house tool. You run several client pipelines side by side, your clients review candidates in a free portal, and every shortlist comes with reasoning you can send with the submission. It suits contingency, retained and hybrid models.

Which languages does Pickr support?

The interface is available in English and German. Candidate data, CVs and notes can be in any language, so a London team hiring for EMEA roles can work with French, German, Spanish or Italian CVs in the same pipeline as English ones, and candidates are scored against the same role requirements regardless of the language they applied in.

Can we import our existing ATS or CRM data?

Yes. One-click import from Bullhorn, Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby, automatic recognition of Teamtailor exports, or a CSV from any other system. Past applications, talent pools and notes are searchable and scored from day one, so your first search on Pickr does not start from an empty database.

Does Pickr work for in-house hiring teams in London?

Yes. In-house teams at banks, scaleups, law firms and consultancies use the same scored shortlist, structured interviews and automatic follow-ups. Hiring managers and interviewers join on free seats, and feedback lands where the decision is made instead of in an email thread.
